Internet Trust and Safety Expert Joins LiveOps as General Counsel
Former eBay SVP Rob Chesnut to Oversee Legal and Government Relations
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (July 14, 2009) –
LiveOps today announced the appointment of Rob Chesnut as General Counsel. Reporting to LiveOps CEO Maynard Webb, he is responsible for overseeing legal and government relations. Chesnut joins the LiveOps team now that Joe Eandi, LiveOps’ previous General Counsel, takes over responsibility for the company’s industry-leading independent agent community.

As former SVP for eBay’s Rules, Trust and Safety, Chesnut ran a global organization of 2,000 employees and oversaw the development of eBay’s industry-leading proactive fraud detection infrastructure which reduced reported fraud and counterfeiting activity nearly 60% over a six-year period. In addition, Chesnut developed eBay’s rule and site conduct structure for all sites worldwide, including eBay’s feedback system which is considered the leading reputation system on the Internet today. Prior to Rules, Trust and Safety, Chesnut led North American legal affairs and compliance for eBay.

Prior to eBay, Chesnut spent 15 years as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Justice Department. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a JD from Harvard Law School.
